Bull with Goats

Oil on canvas. The work features a bull and some sheep and goats with long fleeces, resting in the countryside. The accuracy in painting the animals places the work close to the production of Philip Peter Roos, known as Rosa da Tivoli (1655 -1706 ca.): originally from Frankfurt but later moved to Rome, where he remained until his death, this artist was very active above all as a painter of animals, portrayed in the foreground against landscape backgrounds and executed with rich colour and intense light effects. The great success he had and the consequent very large production (sometimes to the detriment of the quality of the works), justify the frequent attribution to this painter and his circle of works with a subject and pictorial technique close to his, such as the one presented here. Moreover, the work was previously attributed to Londonio. The painting has been restored and relined.

San Lorenzo Milan 1898

Watercolor on paper. Signed lower left. Metal label on the frame with the title and date of the work. Arturo Ferrari was a Milanese painter who made Milanese perspective views the recurring subject in his vast production of oils and watercolors. In a short time he became the creator of a poetic and sentimental recollection of old Milan which, in the transition to the twentieth century, thanks to a radical building renovation, was taking on a new face. This glimpse of Milan offers a detail of Piazza Vetra with the lateral access passage to the Columns of San Lorenzo and the dome of the Basilica of the same name. The work is presented in a period frame.

Painting Still Life with Hare and Duck

Painting Still Life with Hare and Duck

ARARPI0281877
Painting Still Life with Hare and Duck

Oil on canvas. The composition of two game animals, a duck and a hare, hanging by their legs from the iron of a lamp holder, is attributed to the production of Angelo Maria Crivelli, known as Crivellone (born between 1650 and 1660 and died in 1730). The work certainly looks in the pictorial methods and subject to the production of this artist who, influenced by Flemish painting, concentrated on the representation of hunting scenes, wild and domestic animals, farmyard animals and fish. Restored and relined, the painting is presented in a period frame.
