Description : Omaggio a Carlo Gatti

Watercolor on paper. Tribute to Carlo Gatti (1876-1965), a well-known composer and music critic, and musicologist. There is depicted an oak, the roots of which leave from the Teatro alla Scala of Milan (of which the Cat was superintendent for two years) between the fronds of which are four images of a caricature of the master; in the centre a medallion with the profile of the artist and the dedication To Carlo Gatti painters thankful, 1944"; on the trunk, a cartouche with the title "Oak glory". All around the tree, several signatures of Italian artists, among which are those of Nicolas Benois, Guido Marussig, Savino Labò. In the frame of view.
