Description : I briganti nel covo nel bosco

Oil on canvas by Luigi Villevenue (19th century). The artist, active in the second half of the 19th century, managed to reproduce a scene of a great impact, where in the Romantic atmosphere given by the suffused colors in medium pink and in the realistic forest landscape a group of bandits with their women (characters of a great artistic impact due to the legendary aura around them) are resting in their lair hidden by the branches and the trunks. Restored, it is presented in a gilded coeval frame. Second half of the 19th century.
