Description : L'assalto dei briganti

Oil on panel. The author, active in the second quarto dell'800, is able to reproduce a scene of great effect, where the romantic atmosphere given by the soft colors in the pink tones of the sky and of the efficient realistic rendering of forest landscape, is accompanied by the drama of the scene (which played out in the shadows of the underbrush) that sees a group of robbers - people of great artistic impact and romantic aura, the legendary that surrounded them, to attack a covered wagon of poor people. Restored, it is presented in a golden frame coeval.
