Description
A small candle stick, bronze. Square base with four ferine feet. The upper part is decorated with volutes and the bottom with a bulino engraving. Upper handle with intertwined snakes. The lantern is surmounted with a winged vestal in the act of pouring oil on the altar. The amphora, the little basin in which the oil is poured and the basement are gilded. The quality and delicacy of the figure suggest excellent drawing and sculptural skills. Manufactured in Italy, early 19th century.
