Oil on canvas. The depicted nobleman is the Earl of Belgioioso Galeotto Barbiano Boccardi-Quarterio (1713-1796). The 14th March 1744 he married Maria Francesca Rossi di San Secondo (1720-1793), Pietro Maria Rossi di San Secondo and Donna Gerolama Spinosa's daughter. The couple had a son called Francesco Barbiano di Belgioioso (1748-1829). The painting comes from a private familiar collection paired with the painting of the wife. Identifier on the back. Restored and relined, it is presented in a gilded frame of 1800s. 18th century.
