Oil on board. Magdalene is depicted according to the traditional iconographical canons that underline both her sensual and penitent dimensions. In fact, she is depicted with long hair hardly hiding her nudity. She is preying in a deserted setting. The skull near her is symbol of the memento mori and the small jar of unguent recalls the part of the Gospel when she washes Jesus' feet and sprinkles the scented unguent on them. In gilded frame.
