Oil on wooden board. Signed on the lower left corner. Stefano Bersani - Lombard artist and poet - used to paint from life even the most humble and common subject. Among his works there are many landscapes of Lombardy like this one with the Alps on the background as well as fields with farmers, farm animals and popular figures. He took part in many contests and exhibited his works in many galleries in Lombardy and he was also very popular in noble houses, where he used to paint. The painting is presented in beautiful coeval frame. 19th century.
