Oil on canvas. Good quality, the painting has a label attributing it to Armfield Smith (1808-1893) and on the top of the back side a paper cartouche attributing the painting to the same artist. George Armfield Smith's favorite subjects were dogs: he was passionate about them. He was William Armfield Hobday's son and he studied with his father. The painting is presented in a frame of the early 1900s. Second half of the 19th century.
