Description : San Gerolamo penitente

Oil painting on canvas. The saint is depicted, according to the iconographic tradition, seated in the desert, wrapped in a pink cloth only, holding the crucifix with one hand and with the other the stone with which he used to beat his chest as a sign of penance; the typical tamed lion appears gentle on his left. The rosy and red colors stand out, while all the other elements are shaded in dark colors. Restored.
