Tempera on canvas. The painting is part of a series of gouaches depicting the Allegories of seasons and it represent autumn, characterized by wood harvesting and some figures cutting and carrying the faggots in a mountain forest full of trees near a river flowing impetuously with waterfalls. In the background, a cliff and the remains of a temple. Presented in coeval frame. Late 18th century.
