Oil on canvas. Maestro dei riflessi, anonymous artist from Venice of the mid 1700s, was an artist belonging to the same circle of Pietro Longhi (1701-1785), an artist from Venice famous for his genre paintings depicting Venetian costumes and life scenes. He depicted charming events of the Venetian low and high society during their daily life. These subjects had a great impact and were so inspirational to allow the spread of imitators and followers of the genre. Maestro dei Riflessi was among them. The painting depicts a popular setting where young boys and girls are having a moment of musical diversion: within a dark interior, they stand out thanks to the colorful dresses of the girls who are paying their instruments. A harp, a tambourine and a flute. Antique amended frame. On the back of the structure, there is an antique cartouche. Mid 18th century.
