Varnishes on canvas. Signed in the lower left corner. Maurilio Catalano was born in 1942 in Palermo where he taught at Accademia delle Belle Arti. He has managed the gallery and printing house Arte al Borgo since 1963. He held many personal exhibitions in Italy and abroad. Many of his works are exhibited in public places such as a painting of 30 sqm at the Airport Falcone-Borsellino in Sicily. The sea with its intense and strong colors is a recurrent subject in his works, as well as the feelings the sea arouses. This painting depicts some flowers which seem to be floating on water with their roots deep in the ground below. The work is presented in frame. Contemporary art.
