Description : Ecce Homo
Oil on tablet. Ecce Homo , or "Behold the man", is the expression with which Pilate presents to the crowds, Jesus, scourged and crowned with thorns, wearing the only red coat that will become, in christian iconography, the symbol of martyrdom. The small painting shows some loss of colour. It is presented in a contemporary frame.
