Tempera on canvas. Decorative element from a Lombard mansion house depicting a round marble low relief with the profile of a man enclosed in a garland with ribbons which is placed within a niche in the wall. Everything is enclosed in fake painted marbles. The Neoclassical taste favored the sculptural plasticity over the pictorial expressiveness, shape over color and embellished walls with fake marbles. The canvas is presented in frame. 18th century.
