Oil painting. Restored. It depicts the mythological event that led up to the Trojan War when Paris had to choose among the most important goddesses of Olympus: Athena, Hera and Aphrodite which one deserved the Apple to be appointed the fairest one. The subject was depicted many times over the centuries. In this representation, the three goddesses cannot be recognized for their characteristics and therefore they lose any allegorical connotation. They are three beautiful women, similar in the attitudes and clothes waiting for Paris' judgment. 17th century.
