Luigi Rocca was born in Udine but he soon moved to Turin, where he completed his education. He became popular when he was only sixteen years old thanks to local and regional exhibitions. He favored portraiture but was also interested in landscape painting. His style is hyperrealistic, he aims towards a perfect depiction of reality. He was fascinated by the United States, therefore he dedicated a big part of his work painting street views of the big American cities, mainly New York. He portrays luxurious cars with extreme realism: no emotional participation of the artist can be perceived. In this particular painting he thoroughly investigates material quality and the lighting effects, visible on the vehicle refinishing. In 1998 he participated to the Art Expo in New York; he is present in numerous italian and international shows and exhibitions. In 1996 the artist moved to Venice where he lives and displays his artworks in Melori & Rosenberg Gallery in Campo del Ghetto Nuovo. Since October 2007 his works can be found also in New York in Arnot Galleries, 57th Street.
