Colored litography. Artist proof. It is signed in pencil in the bottom right corner. Ardengo Soffici was born in the florentine province, he got close to the artistic world while he was working in a lawyer's office, he got to know a small group of young artists attending the Accademia delle Arti and the Scuola del Nudo where Giovanni Fattori and Telemaco Signorini were teaching. Soffici started painting, later on he became a self-taught writer. He lived in Paris where he entered the world of illustration and the book industry: he worked with a number of magazines both as a writer and as an illustrator, taking part in the disputes among materialists, spiritualists, romantics, classicists, and modernists in the artistic scene, broadening his views. He was close to the Futuristic movement even though he often argued with its exponents, changing his position towards the movement more than once. The artwork is presented in frame.
