Oil on canvas. Signature and date center right. To the rear on the chassis are present, the title and additional data. Cesare Monti was born in Brescia in 1891. He studied painting with Edoardo Togni, a pupil of Gaetano Previati and came near to the divisionist technique. In 1911 he moved to Milan and began in italy in the vibrant artistic environment. His pictorial evolution continued up to the end, passing on from the initial pointillism to a more free painting done without drawing on the strength of the impression, to come to face bravely and wisely with the new tendencies, in a sort of figurative/informal. The work presented is a still life linked to the theme of the hunt: the hare is the prey that you just killed, depicted at the rifle the cartuccera of the hunter. The work was presented in the frame.
