Oil on canvas. The Italian school. The scene tells the tragic myth of Sextus Tarquinius (son of the king of Rome, Tarquin the Proud) that invaghitosi of Lucrezia, the wife of the noble Collatinus, forced her, threatening to succumb to his desire. Lucrezia subsequently revealed the incident to her husband and to the father and killed himself. Already restored and ritelato, the painting is presented in a frame style.
