Description : Ritratto di Madame Sebastien Bottin.
Oil on canvas. On the back of the frame ther is a vintage title block that reports the identity of the woman portraited and her personal informatins. She's Marguerite Françoise Poincignon (1771-1831) that on August 20th 1794 merried the famous statesman and politician Sebastien bottin who took part in the French Revolution giving up his ecclesiastical vows for her (the marriage with the portraited woman is dated back to that time) and well known as an expert in statistics; the " Almanach du commerce de Paris et des principales villes du monde " belogs to him and from him was generally named "bottin". Comes with coeval gilded frame.
