Oil on board. The characteristics of this painting are illustrative examples of Claude Joseph Vernet (1714-1789), specialist of sea views and excellent painter in eighteenth-century landscape genre. Many are the details which identify this marina between the more mature paintings by the artist: the vibrant, atmospheric performance reminiscent of examples rosiani and sensual softness tones of Adriaen Manglard; analogous characteristics by his follower Italian Francesco Fidanza (1747-1819), to which you can refer to the execution of this painting.
