Description : Ischia isola, olim Aenaria
Etching. On the upper right corner there is the title of the map that represents Ischia's Island and the small island of Aenaria ( from latin "aenum" that means "metal" since it was an industrial center where metal and clay were worked; the roman city existed since IV th century B.C. until 130-150 A.C. and was destroyed by a vulcanic eruption or by and earthquake. Today the city is submerged by the sea at 9 methers deep. On the lower right corner there is an inscription with the name of the author. The inscription come from "Italia" edited by Fabio Magini in Bologna between 1620 and 1640.
