Description : Ecce Homo
Oil on canvas. Ecce Homo is the representation of Christ during his Passion, crowned with thorns, with a rad cape and a bamboo cane as a scepter; he is exposed by Pontius Pilate to the derision of the crowd after being sentenced to death. Jesus is represented alone leaning against the stoning column without soldiers or crowd around but surrounded by a gilded light that underlines his separation from human life, the trascendence from his Passion and death. The painting had been restored and displayed in a 19th century frame.
