Description : Paesaggio con architetture e figure

Oil on canvas. Center-Italian School. The landscape shows a glimpse of a small village that can be reached by a small bridge that crosses the river on which are walking 2 wayfares; on the left there is a group of commoners and farmers in front of a ruined temple; interesting are the ruins of a pyramidal stone structure that recalls Cestia Pyramid: this monument often appears in the roman landscapes painting of 17th-18th century and considered an "architectual tantrum". The painting had been restored not recently (late 19th century-early 20th century). Displayed in a gilded frame of late 19th century.
