Oil on cardboard. Signed in the lower right. To the rear there is a sketch of another drawing, and two stamps art galleries. Emilio Night, born in a small village of Apulia, formed artistically first at the Academy of Fine Arts of Naples, and afterwards to that of Florence: it is here that the Night he met important personalities from the cultural and artistic world that came to the futurist movement, which he joined in 1914. After the first world war, who lived in the trenches, moved first to Milan and finally to Venice, where the artistic career beside the beginning of a long period of teaching, which he continued later to Rome and finally to Naples, at the Academy of Fine Arts. From the years '30 Emilio Night began to compete with the charm of Renoir, but by filtering out the lesson of the French master in his work the most bare and essential, that led to turn off the sensuality of chromatic atmospheres, impressionist, and to turn them to a rigor, severe, solemn, in the interpretation of the subject. The small landscape proposed is characterized by the strong component of material in the use of color. It is presented in a contemporary frame.
