Oil on canvas. Emilian School. A very domestic and familiar interpretation of a subject often reprised in art is presented here: the Apparition of the Virgin with the Child to the Saint from Padua, recognizable by the tunic and the lily. The Virgin, seated on the clouds, appears relaxed and holds her son's swaddling cloths in her hands, while looking benevolently at the Saint who is cradling the Child lovingly and playing with Him. The painting presents some traces of previous restorations and recanvassing.
