Description
L.V. case dating back to 1890, upholstered with Damier fabric, the famous checkered brown and beige fabric, invented a few years prior by Georges Vuitton, Louis' son. It is a pretty big men's case, commissioned to endure long trips. The interior is equipped with shelves and compartments created to place hats (even the big ones, like top hats) and other essential accessories at the end of the 1800s, like scarves, suspenders, cuffs and collars. The craftmanship of the Maison is shown by the sturdy external structure, accompanied by the soft covering inside. Item in excellent condition: there have been small restorations during the years preserving all of the original parts, including the locks and the finishes in gilded brass.
