Description : Ritratto di Agata Sala, di anni 63
Charcoal and biacca on paper. At the bottom ther is A. Fleissner's signature, the date and the name of the woman portrayed, with age. Andrea Fleissner was a Lombard painter of the 19th century, born in Lovere (Bergamo) and died in Vigevano, who distinguished himself mainly for his portraits, whether painted in oil, or drawn on pastel paper or made of charcoal and biacca. In his production there are mainly portraits of characters of the petty-middle-class. Often such portraits propose couples, as in the case of the portrait presented here, alongside the twin of Agatha’s husband, Mr Antonio Sala. The design is presented in a walnut frame of the early '800.
