Description : Scene della Passione

Oil on hardboard. Signed and dated in the upper left corner. Udo Toniato, a naive painter, is known for his works that tell his homeland, the Bassa del Po, with its characters. In this work he proposes the theme of the Passion of Christ in his naive style and updated in the 1900s: the body of Christ is taken down from the Cross, while nuns, priests and Carabinieri observe and despair; on the left the suicide of Judas. Work presented in frame.
