Tempera on paper. Signed in pencil in the lower center. Marcello Dudovich, originally from Trieste but artistically trained in Milan and partly in Bologna, was an Italian advertiser, painter and illustrator, and is considered one of the fathers of modern Italian advertising poster design. The work of the Trieste is remembered above all for having staged the comforts of the Italian bourgeoisie in the period of the Belle Époque: elegance, worldliness, horse races, elegant clothes and, above all, the femininity of high-ranking women. The painting is presented in a contemporary frame.
