Description
Pair of poplar wall units veneered in mahogany, each with six removable drawers with geographical maps signed “J. Anddriveau–Goujon, Paris, 1837”. On the front of each of the pulls there is an inlaid and engraved label with the indication, in French, of the subject represented on the map: in the first "Mappe Monde - Asie - Afrique - Turquie d'Europe - Prussie d'Europe - Allemagne" in the other “France – CB de Brittany – Italie – Espagne – Amerique du Nord – Amerique du Sud”. The cymatium is shaped and carved with leaf motifs and a rosette. Spring mechanisms are made of brass, iron and steel springs.
