Description
Sundial cannon resting on a circular marble slab on which the hours are engraved, including a central gnomon. There is a brass cannon and a magnifying glass supported by two tilting arms. The cannon used to be filled with gunpowder, which was ignited at noon, with sunlight passing through the magnifying glass; for this reason it is also called the "midday cannon ".
Product Condition:
The item shows signs of wear due to age. Any damage or loss is displayed as completely as possible in the pictures. It may require restoration and recovery of french polish.
