Description : Santa Caterina del Sasso

Oil painting on canvas. Signed A. Mantovani lower right. View of the famous hermitage perched on the eastern shore of Lake Maggiore, founded in the fourteenth century and home to a monastery in which different religious orders have succeeded. The painting is made with a strong material use of color, which increases the luxuriance of the vegetation in the foreground. The canvas has been restored and re-tensioned. It is presented in a contemporary frame.
