Description
Oil painting on canvas. Signed lower left. The Italian painter Aldo Damioli was born in 1952 in Milan, the city where he lives and works. He has participated in numerous and important exhibitions in Italy and abroad, since 2005 he has exhibited in the Marco Rossi Spirale Arte Galleries in Milan, Verona and Monza. Damioli is considered one of the greatest exponents of a conceptual painting that has its roots in De Chirico's metaphysics. His artistic production in the 90s is characterized by mainly landscape / architectural works, especially glimpses of New York and Venice, with a strong scenographic mold and scanned by a very clear and diffused light, which produces almost no shadows. Subsequently Damioli goes on to produce figures, creating a world of light and dazzling colors, a universe of joy and happiness, in contrast to so much dark and dramatic contemporary art: the new works are titled Figures luminous, precisely because of the brilliant colors, obtained through a particular technical expedient. The work presented is a glimpse of the city with a passing train; the three tall palms stand out, occupying the whole medium range of the scene. Although it does not belong to Damioli's best-known series, even this small canvas clearly highlights the artist's scenographic and realistic rendering ability.
