Description : L'attesa

Oil on canvas. It is the portrait of a young common woman who at dawn awaits the return of the fisherman's boat standing on the beach, with flowers in her hand and the smiling and lost expression of a girl in love. The unsigned painting is attributed to the hand of Alfonso Chierici, an artist from Reggio Emilia who worked mainly in Rome. Chierici mainly dealt with painting of historical and religious subjects, in the wake of the romantic production of the 19th century. The proposed work is presented in a style frame.
