Oil painting on canvas. Italian school. Traditional iconographic representation of the saint: dressed in skins but also draped in a red cloak, symbol of martyrdom, he holds the staff surmounted by the cross with one hand, while with the other he points to the sky, as a reference to the divine; at his feet a lamb, symbol of the sacrificial victim. The dark background, against which the red tangle of the mantle stands out, suggests the interior of a cave, of which two openings covered with foliage can be glimpsed. Restored and relined in the first half of the 1900s, the painting is presented in a 1930s frame.
