Oil painting on canvas. Unidentified signature and date 1897 in the lower left corner. On the back of the frame an inscription identifies the locality: it is a glimpse of the De Brouckère square in Brussels, with a corner of the homonymous fountain, a monument erected in 1866 in homage to Charles de Brouckère, mayor of the city from 1848 to 1860. foreshortening opens onto a side street, and is animated by numerous figures. Restored and relined (keeping the original frame), the painting is presented in a period frame.
