Oil on canvas. On the back there is the name of the portrayed character, the artist's signature and the date of execution. Ulisse Sartini, originally from Piacenza but who lives and works in Milan, is considered one of the most important living Italian portrait painters. In his production there are portraits of various popes, Italian and foreign political personalities, personalities from the world of entertainment and theater. He is considered by art critics to be a painter with a very high executive capacity, who also stands out in this portrait of an important Milanese impresario, resulting almost a photograph. The Renaissance setting of the portrait is also peculiar: the character is placed with a background that is very reminiscent of portraiture of the fifteenth-sixteenth century, with on the right a balustrade on which the marble head rests and surmounted by a red damask drapery, but above all on the left the vast and sweet landscape that opens the gaze towards the infinite. The work is presented in a contemporary frame.
