Description : Santa Caterina

Oil painting on canvas. Italian school of the XVIII-XIX century. The saint is traditionally depicted dressed in her Dominican tertiary habit, on her head a crown of thorns, in contemplation of the Crucifix, the rosary crown hanging from her arm and with a skull next to the prayer book. Doctor of the Church, Italian theologian, philosopher and mystic, she is the patroness of Italy together with St. Francis of Assisi. The painting has small drops of color at the bottom. It is presented in a frame from the early 1900s.
