Description : Fanciulla con cesto di frutta
Sanguine on paper. Signed lower right. On the back this number 55 in pencil, probably collection number, which could be that of Carlo Prayer, characterized by the mounting on a black border. It is the work of the Venetian artist Giuseppe Bernardino Bison, who, while living in full neoclassicism and not estranging himself from the most up-to-date artistic movements, remained tied to the great Venetian tradition, which is revealed both in his production as a fresco artist and in his intense production from an easel dedicated to genre scenes, to views of Venice, to characteristic "capricious" landscapes often dominated by the remains of classical architecture in ruins, crossed by travelers and populated by figurines engaged in daily activities in the presence of a cultured nature in its most picturesque. Also in this small sketch the Bison proposes a fresh figure of a girl of the people, a seller of fruit that she is offering with a lively and natural gesture of the hand. The work is proposed in an exposed frame.
