Description
Oil on paper mounted on canvas. Signature in the lower left corner indicating the place and date done by scratching with the back of the brush. The date is probably 1838 (the last digit is slightly abraded and not self-explanatory). Beautiful landscape painting "en plein air" by the leader of the Barbizonier; touch, quick-out energetically by the descriptive framework, academic, to inaugurate the look on that will feature more modern research of French painting of the mid ' 800. Early dating gives us a beginning painter of his research on the real, mediated by encounter with the Constable's painting, and suffused with that relationship panic, emotional participation in the meeting with nature that characterises Rousseau's painting and that will affect all of the Barbizon school. To Verso, paper label of origin of Salomon Gallery estimated. The opera, in the frame without glass, is in excellent condition.
