Oil on canvas. Signed and dated upper right. On the back the title and address of the artist's studio in Milan. Bepi Romagnoni, a young Milanese artist who died tragically at a young age, was an exponent of the pictorial movement of existential Realism that was inspired by the philosophy of Kierkegaard, Camus, Sartre: this inspiration is found in the themes chosen as the subject of his works - empty , the lack of communication between the characters, the loneliness and the differences between social classes - both in the pictorial ones and in the subsequent collages. He was always updated towards international contemporary art (such as the Cobra group and the European informal) and also became interested in the Mexican muralist painting of José Clemente Orozco, beginning to suffer in his production of strong expressionistic accents, and then, from the end of the 50s and early 60s, surrealist influences, populating his painting with graphic signs and sometimes creating phytomorphic and zoomorphic images. the work is presented in a frame.
