It is a beautiful portrait by Beltrame of his friend, painter, sculptor and set designer Lodovico Pogliaghi (1857 -1950), a pupil of Hayez and Bertini at the Brera Academy in Milan, Achille Beltrame created hundreds of oil and watercolor paintings as a painter. , tempera and pencil, portraying many landscapes of Lombard localities and valleys, but also performing numerous portraits and producing historical subjects and scenes of Milanese life. His best known and most important production is, moreover, that as an illustrator, in particular for his collaboration with the Domenica del Corriere, which made his color plates the hallmark of the magazine.
