Description

Hammer for the opening of the Holy Door in the 4 Major Basilicas of Rome in the Jubilee Year which is celebrated every 50 years. The solemnity harks back to an ancient Jewish tradition. The first Christian Jubilee was the one announced by Boniface VIII in 1300. The object is made in cast bronze.
