Description : Madonna con Bambino, San Giovannino e Sant'Anna

Oil on canvas. The painting presents a classic group of sacred figures, Mary and Jesus, flanked by St. Anne and the little St. John the Baptist: the two children are often depicted in a playful attitude, as in this case in which St. John makes the Child play. Jesus with his iconographic symbols, the lamb and the pastoral staff surmounted by the Cross. The composition of figures, set within a gentle landscape, is inspired by Tuscan models of the early 1500s, in particular by the manner of Raffaello Sanzio. Relined, the painting shows small drops in color and needs cleaning. The work is presented in a mid-20th century style frame.
