Description : Ritratto di giovane donna
Mixed technique on board. Signed lower right. The female subject is recurrent in the artistic production of Bruno Calvani, sculptor and painter of Apulian origins but who lived and trained between Milan and Paris. In his works, especially in his sculptures, Calvani looks to Hellenism to aspire to the harmony of forms, also taking up this research in his drawings and pictorial works, to express a series of emotions and moods. Here is the harmonious and absorbed face of a young woman, modern in her haircut, but absorbed precisely in an expression that goes beyond time, referring to antiquity. The work is presented in a coeval frame.
