Description : Giubbe rosse in sosta

Oil painting on canvas. At the bottom right there is the signature D.Soulery. The scene is set in a narrow and impervious valley, with a rocky wall on the right and a wooded slope on the left, in which a river flows; near the bridge that crosses the latter, in the foreground there are some soldiers with the characteristic uniform of the Red Coats (soldiers of the British army between the 17th and 20th centuries), who are resting, sleeping, playing cards or eating food that the women and children they met offer them. Restored and relined, the painting is presented in a period frame.
