Oil on the table. signed lower left. On the back there is a label from the Milanese Ranzini Gallery with the data of the work and note of participation of the same in the personal exhibition of the artist in March 1952. Considered one of the most poetic landscape painters of the 20th century, the Lombard painter Ambrogio Vismara transposed in his works love for his native places, dedicating most of his production to the Lombard landscapes - the mountains, the plains, the hills of his native Brianza - and evoking almost all of them in autumnal atmospheres and tones. His peculiarity was the use of the spatula instead of the brush, which allowed him to obtain an effect of tonal spots, with a clear contrast of planes. In this work, however, a glimpse of the Aosta Valley is proposed, with the rustic in the open valley, dominated by the snow-capped peaks of the Monte Rosa massif. The work is presented in a coeval frame.
