Oil painting on canvas. Signed lower right, barely legible. Further signature and title on the back. In Mario Bionda's works the theme of nature, landscapes and situations present in his memory recurs, but human figures are also recurring, depicted distorted and with color choices focused on a single color scheme. Author of a painting that expresses the intimate human drama, between contemplation of nature and rarefaction of the image, Bionda often loved to use mixed techniques, layering natural materials and pigment, colors alluding to the elements of nature (fire, water, earth), in shades of brown and green of the woods and marshes, or in the whites, grays and blues of the sky and the sea. Here the two figures, a mother and a son, are represented immersed in the blue ranges of the background, also underlined in the title. The painting is presented in a frame.
